Katuš & The Gift Horses

Katuš is a sound impossible to pin down - neither typical Czech, English, Bulgarian, French, Russian, Mandinka or Irish. She sings, plays the Chinese Hulusi ,flute and excellent guitar. She was invited here in 2002 to support a Bulgarian trio who inspired her so much she travelled to Bulgaria with them.

The Gift Horses is the ‘nom de plume’ of world folk artist Katuš Young - a carousel of great musicians with whom she’s worked over the years on the road .. all brilliant in their own art form, with a passion to improvise, and follow Katuš’ unique and fluid sound journey. Tonight she will be joined by Tony Wrafter (flute, sax, guitar) and Alan Cooper (fiddle).
