K’Chevere
Salsa Dance Night
K’Chevere (pronounced “kay-che-ver-ray”) are one of the UK’s finest Latin bands. Originally formed to perform at an open-air concert for the Bath Fringe Festival 2000, the line-up has since increased from a 5-piece to 9-piece and the band have performed with guest Latin artists at multiple venues and events across the UK.The phrase K’Chevere (“Que chevere” in Spanish) is generally used in Latin America to describe good feelings, positive feedback or anything good, which is exactly how the audience is likely to feel during and after one of our performances! Our repertoire is strongly influenced by the music and rhythms of Cuba, as well as Venezuela and the rest of Latin America!Artists including Tito Puente, Patato Valdés, Buena Vista Social Club and Eddie Palmieri, have influenced our mix of Cuban classics with their own original compositions, that combine Afro-Cuban dance rhythms such as Son, Danzón and Cha-Cha-Cha with a blend of Latin Jazz and Salsa. The K’Chevere line up has progressed since we started to form one of the most original latin outfits in the UK. At present the band is formed with musicians from Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Venezuela and this combination is enhanced with a strong and very professional section of UK musicians. The result is a powerful sound that is irresistible for dancing!
