The Folk Bus presents
Celtic Tides
Performance storytelling and folk music, with Oliver Lavery and Tamsin Quin
"Set sail with us in a ship of Myth, song and story; exploring traditional folklore from these Celtic shores. Expect Welsh witches, Cornish Tricksters, Irish pirates, shapeshifting seal women, and journeys across the sea into the Otherworld"‘Performance Storytelling’ is a contemporary take on the traditional storytelling format, by taking the corpus of old myths, fairy tales and folklore and applying contemporary formats such as physical theatre, spoken word poetry, stand-up comedy and improvisation in order to bring these ancient stories to life in front of an audience in an engaging and relatable way. The result is no dusty museum piece, but a living and breathing art form that somehow manages to be ancient and modern at the same time. For 'Celtic Tides', folklorist and storyteller Oliver Lavery teams up with folk musician and songwriter Tamsin Quin to bring you a unique performance storytelling show of traditional Celtic tales from Britain and Ireland with original musical compositions. All the tales in this show (as one might expect) have a nautical or aquatic theme. Past praise for 'Celtic Tides'"Mesmerising""A truly immersive, enthralling and entertaining experience""Excellent storytelling and music! Only wished it lasted longer!""Both singer and storyteller were excellent and really engaged the audience with interesting tales.
